Writing Guide

A simple guide to this term's sentence frames — how they grow, and how to fill them in with confidence.

Why this page: you get one new sentence frame each week. It grows a little every time. This page shows you how. It helps you feel ready for Week 8 and Week 16.

How a frame grows

Same idea. A little more is added each time.

Week 1: "I see a ___."

Week 4: "I see a ___. It is my ___."

Week 7: "This is my ___. I like ___."

Week 8 (presentation): "This is my ___. I like it."

Your turn: "This is my ___. I like ___." — say it out loud with your own word first.

3 steps for any frame

1
Pick your word. Choose a real word. One that is true for you.
2
Say it out loud once. Say the full sentence first. Then write it.
3
Check your spelling. Look at your word list. Don't guess.

Checklist before you're done

My sentence ends with a period.
I used a real word from this week's list.
I read it out loud one more time.
Week 7 and Week 8: Week 7's frame is your longest one yet. Practice it so Week 8 feels easy.
